Your Home’s Energy Portfolio
Homes in Nova Scotia are among the oldest in the country; their inefficiency is costing homeowners. Your Home’s Energy Portfolio follows a three-step system, including an app, a workbook, and a Home Energy Toolkit, which aims to provide access to information, and create opportunities for green home energy retrofits.
The Home Energy Toolkit
The first step of the 3-part program is the Home Energy Toolkit, which works in conjunction with Your Home’s Energy Portfolio (Workbook); this can be viewed below in it’s entirety. The first half of the workbook outlines how to use the Toolkit, giving the user activities to carry-out to discover inefficiencies in their home, as well as free or inexpensive options to DIY retrofit their homes.
Your Home’s Energy Portfolio (Workbook)
Your Home’s Energy Portfolio is split into 2 sections. As mentioned above, the first section is a self assessment which requires the use of the Home Energy Toolkit. Section 2 is focused on the accessibility to resources, funding, assistance, and most importantly information.

Your Home’s Energy Portfolio (iOS Application)
The final part is an iOS application. For the demographic of people in my research who are less likely to want to speak to a person on the phone, or book an in-person appointment, there is a simple and automated option in the accompanying app.
